This is a pair of new old stock genuine Ford passenger side / RH # 7C-8121818-A and driver side / LH # 1C-8121819-A door latches. These N.O.S. latches are in perfect condition and have never been installed. Since they are new they have none of the typical problems that used latches suffer from such as worn component parts, weak latch springs, missing or broken remote springs, worn remote cams, etc. Also worn latches are the reason that outside door handles do not sit in the horizontal position when the doors are closed. The RH even has the factory parts label on the middle of the link where you can see the part # and ‘FoMoCo’ script.

These will fit all 1948 – 1952 Ford and Mercury pickups, panels and trucks F1 thru F-8 including COE models. These are totally correct for 1951 – 1952 5-Star Extra Cabs with the key lock cylinder in the driver’s door. If you don't have a 1951 – 1952 5-Star Extra Cab (some call this a deluxe cab) you can still use this NOS driver side latch by removing the key lock tang portion on this LH latch. Or, you can simply put a ty-wrap thru the square hole on the lower tang when it is in the unlocked position. Of course, your other option is to install a key lock cylinder in your driver door so you can utilize this typically deluxe cab option. The RH latch of course fits all 1948 – 1952 Ford & Merc trucks both standard and deluxe cabs.

If you wonder why nobody is reproducing these latches consider this – each latch is made from approximately 25 component parts with many parts being mirror images between RH & LH latches which require different stamping dies. Keep in mind that these latches are almost impossible to rebuild as I have tried.

Spray these up with white lithium grease and these latches are ready to install and latch your doors securely and safely.
