WHITE HOUSE Wood Relic Display

* 1950 Renovation Material * Large Piece *

Construction of the President’s House, later known as the White House, began in 1792 under President George Washington. Completed in 1800, every President, since John Adams, has resided in this historic structure. During the War of 1812 the British forces invaded Washington and burned the White House. It was immediately rebuilt and has since been an important part of the history of the United States of America.

The actual piece of relic wood is about 1.25 x 1.25 inch. It is a good size piece. The relic is housed in an 8x12 Riker display case. The image on top is an original, ca. 1907 early post card. An engraved brass plaque reads…. ”Original White House Wood Removed in 1950”. There is a COA attached to the back signed by myself: Wayne Smith – WhiteHouseRelics.com.

Here is your chance to own a unique display with an actual piece of the White House!

The pine was removed during the well documented reconstruction of the White House under Pres. Truman in 1950. The wood was originally sold to the public as souvenirs by the Commission on the Renovation of the Executive Mansion. The original larger piece of wood, which is in my possession, has an authenticating bronze plaque.

A beautiful historic display worthy of any location!
