Horus is one of the most important and widely worshiped gods in ancient Egyptian mythology. He is often depicted as a falcon-headed deity or as a man with a falcon head. Horus was associated with kingship, the sky, and protection.

In Egyptian mythology, Horus was believed to be the son of the goddess Isis and the god Osiris. Osiris, who was the ruler of the gods and the embodiment of kingship, was murdered by his brother Set. After Osiris' death, Horus sought revenge against Set and engaged in a fierce battle with him. This conflict symbolized the struggle between order and chaos, good and evil.

Horus eventually defeated Set and became the rightful king of Egypt. As the rightful heir to the throne, Horus was considered the divine protector of the pharaohs and the embodiment of kingship. The pharaohs were believed to be the earthly incarnation of Horus during their rule.

Horus was also associated with the sky and was often depicted as a falcon soaring across the heavens. He was considered the god of the sky, representing its vastness and its connection to the divine realm. As the sky god, Horus was believed to control the sun and the moon and was closely associated with the sun god Ra.

One of the most famous tales involving Horus is the "Eye of Horus" myth. According to this story, Horus lost one of his eyes during the battle with Set, but it was magically restored by the goddess Hathor. The restored eye, called the "Eye of Horus" or the "Wadjet Eye," became a symbol of protection, healing, and royal power.

Horus was also venerated as a deity who embodied virtue and righteousness. He was associated with justice and was believed to oversee the judgment of the deceased in the afterlife. Horus was often depicted wearing the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, symbolizing his role as a unifying force and the protector of the kingdom.
