Beautiful Australian Retro 9ct Yellow Gold Fine Neck Chain w Opal Pendant 3.7g

This is a beautiful pendant on a thin flat curb link neck chain; we date it to around the mid-century retro years to the 1950s through 1960s. It is stamped 9ct for its 375 solid yellow gold fineness, the chain has a retailer's tab stamped 9K for the 375 fineness.

The pendant has an oval open back drum bezel part framed by decorative two pear shaped overlapping loops. This attaches to a triangular jump ring to thread onto a fine chain. The bezel is rub set with a vibrant piece of flat polished opal with lively coppery, blue, green and gold tones. It is likely to be a doublet Australian opal from either Coober Pedy or Lightning Ridge.
