For bid is an original November 21, 1918 composite photograph of scenes at the San Francisco, California launching of a United States Navy SUBMARINE known as "S-30."  It launched from Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp Ltd., the Potrero Works of the Union Plant there.  Main photo shows the submarine sliding into the water at the SF Wharf.  An oval in the upper left area shows the submarine on the water!  Lower right is a photograph of Miss E. S. Stalmaker, the sponsor of the submarine.  She holding the champagne bottle and a HUGE spray of flowers!  American flag in the background.  This christening occurred 10 days after the armistice was signed ending hostilities in World War I.  This legendary S-class submarine wasn't commissioned by the Navy until 1920!

This is a terrific photograph of scenes of the launching of an early submarine in the American fleet.  NICE clarity.
