For bid is an original July 1937 HARLEM, New York JAZZ CLUB advertising announcement of the "GALA OPENING of our new 'BOJANGLES BAR'' named in honor of the Mayor of Harlem, 'Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.'"  Four panel announcement for teh Thursday, July 8, 1937 grand opening of the bar at the Plantation Club located at 80-82 126th Street.
Illustration of the legendary Bill "Bojangles" Robinson tipping his bowler hat on the front panel.  Robinson (1878-1949) was a beloved African-American / Black dancer, singer and actor!  He appeared in many motion pictures, and on stage, etc.
The gala performances included Mae Johnson, Barrington Guy, Tondelayo, Avon Long, the Three Gobs, and Wessels & Spencer.

There's a phone number to make reservations, etc.  Just a terrific piece of jazz club history from New York.  This item is GLORIOUS!  It has some minor glue residue on the back (it was glued in a scrapbook for many decades).

Fun history.
