The first book of a trilogy and read by Douglas Hodge as a Book at Bedtime on BBC Radio 4, this is a fictional biography of Cicero, told through the first-person narrator of his secretary Tiro, beginning with the prosecution of Verres. 

A Signed First Edition, First Impression in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. The title page has been signed by the author with no personal dedication. 

The unclipped dust jacket is in very good condition with some nibbling to the edges.
