The Rollo Treadway 2008 Psychedelic Pop Debut Album Brooklyn Based

The Rollo Treadway are named after a Buster Keaton silent film character. "Indie-rock pundits have falling all over themselves lately to declare Brooklyn site of the next “scene.” One of that borough’s bands that seems to have fallen under their collective radar, though, is The Rollo Treadway, who’ve debuted with one of the most offbeat power-pop adventures The Baron’s encountered in quite a while. And we DO mean “adventures.” At least a couple of songs on the album are about a kidnapping of two children – the opener, “Kidnapped,” is written from the kids’ point of view, while the kidnappers themselves state their ransom demands in “Dear Mr. Doe,” syncopated by a tapping typewriter.
