From the Estate of the late Carl Macek! Carl wrote the Book "The Art Of Heavy Metal The Movie: Animation for the Eighties" That is how he acquired this photo. You can now own an integral piece of the Movie!  Offered here is a HEAVY METAL 1981 TARRNA (based on Arzach, by Mobius) Carole Desbiens ROTOSCOPING Photo, plus reverse side partial drawing in RED. The photo measures 14" x10.5", and stamped #123 on reverse.  Rotoscoping is an animation technique that animators use to trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to produce realistic action. Originally, animators projected photographed live-action movie images onto a glass panel and traced over the image. This projection equipment is referred to as a rotoscope, developed by Polish-American animator Max Fleischer, and the result is a rotograph. This device was eventually replaced by computers, but the process is still called rotoscoping. The Condition is Excellent.
