Vintage plush mohair alligator hand puppet "Gaty", produced by Steiff, Germany, between 1949-61.  The condition is excellent and it appears to have been gently stored.  The soft mohair is air brushed in a reptile pattern down his back.  He has a huge open mouth with red felt lining and white teeth and bright green glass eyes.  He measures 6" neck to bottom, 10 1/2" finger tip to finger tip and 4" from eyes to snout.  The original button and ID tag are sewn inside the edge of the body and he retains the chest tag, although it does have some numbers written on it.  The ID tag is marked 317.  A great Steiff hand puppet in perfect condition!
