We are both the oldest surviving members of our families. As life-long collectors, and inheritors from those who have Gone Before, we must move on some of our Stuff before that (hopefully far-off) day when it becomes our children’s responsibility. Happy to combine for cheaper postage but PLEASE WAIT for combined invoice from me or ask me for one; postage discounts can only be given on combined purchases paid for on a single invoice.

From a collection of ephemera – either of a dealer or collector, some have prices written in pencil. Many of these items are in VERY poor condition, but many are either quite rare or very interesting, so they may be of interest to someone. Many have local history connections to Australia. Please just read the description carefully, and look at all the photos, so you are sure about the condition of what you are buying. Fragile items will be carefully packaged for posting, happy to combine.

A very early edition of his magazine, the front paper cover is detached but largely intact. 100 pages, including many black and white photographs, including a pull-out photo of Darwin. Original owner Alfred John Maurice Chauncy – his name in ink on the cover and front free. He was a surveyor of Mangain via Coolamon NSW. He enlisted in 20th Battalion AIF (5461) and was killed in action at Ypres 9 October 1917 aged 21.
Rarely found. I have 2 other editions for sale, happy to combine. All could travel for the same postage cost.

    My Items

The items I sell are vintage; they are second hand, old, sometimes very old. I try to describe and photograph my items honestly and to the best of my ability; however if pristine condition is very important to you, I feel you should be buying from a regular shop, where you can inspect the items personally. Please note that all my items are sold "as is", with no warranty implied, and that the photos form part of the description, which should be read carefully. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST.

Shipping and Payment Terms; Combining Items

If you win more than one item in a listing please wait for a combined invoice from me to save you on postage and insurance costs. I always wait until the last item in an auction listing finishes before sending invoices in case buyers win more than one item. If you win an item and are planning to bid on an item in a later-finishing auction, please email me to let me know, and I will wait until that auction has finished to send you a combined invoice.

International buyers please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or postage charges. Please check with your country's Customs Office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding. In most cases these charges will be collected by eBay, in which case they will appear on your invoice. If not, these charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (postage) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional postage charges.

    Problem with a Transaction?

PLEASE contact me first. I am a reasonable human being; if there is a problem I am sure we can work something out that will satisfy us both. Involving eBay should be a last resort – something I hope will not be necessary. Contact Seller is under More Actions on your Purchase History page, or simply Reply to the email I sent when I posted your item.
