Display / Collectors transit Box

A superb and unusual wooden display or collectors box.

With hinged front opening to allow easy carrying of it's precious contents, as I think this was once used to carry a piece of ceremonial silver.

The top with brass handle, the front secured by a latch to the side.

Measures 36.5 cm by 24 cm and stands 18 cm in height.

I have a larger example that was used to carry the family silver, but this being smaller was probably for a single piece. Partly lined with blue felt.

Now would make a unique jewellery or make-up case.

Condition report : In good sound used condition.
