SUPER RARE FIND on this EAPG Central Glass Vaseline Lidded Compote Pressed Diamond #775. This pattern was also called Block Diamond or Zephyr. Central Glass was located in Wheeling, West Virginia. This pattern was produced in the 1880s and continued by U.S.Glass in 1891. The yellow color Vaseline is also know as canary glass or uranium glass. The color is caused by the addition of uranium to the glass mixture. Glows a beautiful yellow-green under black light! This antique us well over 100 years old...Still has its lid which is next to IMPOSSIBLE to find now...and has no chips, nicks or cracks on lid or compote rim which is darn near unheard of! Bottom of foot does have some wear spots that can be felt when running finger under bottom edge...but NONE on outside edge or top of foot pedestal. Stands full 11" tall to top of lid knob and 8" in diameter at rim. Outstanding large antique piece!!
