BEAUTIFUL, RARE, VERY LARGE 9" Early Antique COPPER PATENT POWDER FLASK

DESCRIPTION: Nice, particularly large antique copper/brass powder flask, used by individual riflemen with their early flintlock muskets.  Body is copper, top mechanism is brass.

Unusual to find them this large, and was owned by a serious hunter.  Big enough volume that it could also have been used by a militia man in battle. One of the largest flasks I have ever seen. Measures 9" long and 4" wide and 1 3/4" thick.

Nicely stamped on the top is "PATENT".   Complete with measure thumb lever, etc.   Excellent condition overall, except the measure does not work, typical of many early flasks, since they often don't work after all these years and use.

This has the nice impressed design on both sides.  A few very minor dings in the sides, but nicer than most.  Has a particularly nice look to it, for addition to a collection or to hang with a musket over a fireplace.

A nice, unusual item, from an early New York estate.  Much better than most found.
