For Cook Island note we always have a good story to tell. Hard to improve on this perfect banknote. Deep green, blue, and black on multicolored underprint. Fishing canoe and statue of the god Te-Rongo on back. The wood carvers of the island of Rarotonga, one of the Cook Islands, have a distinctive style and is a typical example of the so-called 'fisherman's god'. The missionary John Williams observed these figures in use during his stay in Rarotonga, that they were to be seen mounted at the front of every fishing canoe. Offerings of food and flowers were made to the god before a fishing expedition. Fish are an important part of the diet of the Cook Islanders, and fishermen are highly skilled. The Cook Islands has its share of legends, myths, and folklore. One famous legend that of Ina and the shark is so popular, it was put on the face of bank notes. There are many versions of this legend. Ina was the love of Tinirau, the god of the ocean who lived on a floating island. One day Ina jumped into the sea in search of Tinirau, but since the sea was so big, she was continually tossed back to shore by its gigantic waves. She enlisted in some fish to help her swim, but they were too small to carry her, so in her frustration, she beat them with a stick, permanently marking their bodies. This is how the angelfish got their black stripes. Eventually a shark agreed to carry her on his back. For the journey she took some coconuts with her, for food and drink. After some time, Ina became thirsty, so the shark raised his dorsal fin so that she could crack a coconut and partake of its milk. Reeling from the pain, the shark tossed Ina off his back dived below the waters, leaving her to flounder in the sea. Finally Tekea the Great, the king of all shards rose from the bottom of the sea and rescued Ina, He then carried her to Tinirau's island where they were finally reunited.

Note- Due to the new and burgeoning world currency market, PCGS has not yet made public a world currency population report. PCGS is slated to publish a population database in the coming months. Until that time, Trusted Traditions World has used the PMG population reports solely as a guide to help evaluate the rarity of all of our notes. PMG grades a higher volume of world paper money submissions, so we feel this is a very accurate evaluation of rarity and scarcity. Should your needs require, we are happy to request from PCGS an exact population report on a case by case basis.

With more than 25 years of experience, we can say with confidence that it’s the eBay buyer who purchases HIGH GRADE WORLD NOTES at today's low prices that will earn returns far beyond any expectations you may have.  When we first started promoting PMG and PCGS certified United States Paper Money more than 15 years ago, we advised customers to buy fewer notes but purchase the highest grades that you can afford for each type.
