This receiver was sold and returned damaged courtesy of FedEx. The damage was mostly cosmetic. The lower corners of the face plate were bent and the left side of the cabinet cracked at the top corner. I got the face plate looking good and the crack in the cabinet somewhat patched. I've included a picture of the crack in it's present condition.

I went over all the inputs, switches, lights & meters and found that the tuner dial light doesn't work & oddly the left channel "B" speaker jack isn't working. Otherwise a real nice powerful receiver.

I've triple boxed it this time and sending FedEx.

The following is from my original listing:

I just acquired this receiver. It had been in storage for years. Not a scratch on it except where the original owner etched her name on the rear panel. The cabinet is real walnut veneer & in great condition. I cleaned this receiver inside & out and also lubed the pots. Tested all the inputs, switches, lights & meters. Everything works as it should with plenty of clean power. It's ready for someone to plug it in & enjoy.

FROM THE INTERNET:
The Realistic STA-850 produces 50 watts of solid power and will drive most any speaker system. It can even handle two sets of speakers. Total harmonic distortion is rated at 0.05%.

The Amplifier is a complementary Output Capacitor-less (OCL) circuit configuration. This design provides good amplification, particularly in the lower bass frequencies.

The STA-850 is equipped with specialized noise-canceling circuitry, effectively eliminating disruptive switching noise. This feature contributes to a cleaner listening experience.

The Tone amplifier incorporates operational amplifier ICs (OP-AMP ICs). These allow for high amplification, minimal distortion, and an expansive dynamic range.

To safeguard the amplifier and speakers, there are dual overload protection circuits in place. These circuits automatically activate in response to thermal issues or problems with the speakers, such as short circuits.
