This is a fantastic little device for anyone interested in bitcoin mining, with an integrated 1.9" LCD screen you can see exactly what your miner is up to including: current hash speed, total hashes, block templates, best difficulty, 32BITs shares and valid blocks.
Great for educational purposes but lets be realistic. These have a much lower chance of finding a block when compared with big, loud, power heavy ASIC mining machines but with a block found every 10 minutes, there's always a chance and with power consumption so low, its not going to cost a fortune in electricity usage.
The great thing about these is that power consumption is so low, you could have 100x of these running and still consume less energy than large ASIC miners and therefore great for anyone getting into bitcoin mining.

NerdMiner is a free and open-source project by BitMaker that lets you try to reach a Bitcoin block with a small piece of hardware. The project gives you a practical project to get stuck in, build something yourself and in the process, you learn more about mining. In the end, you will have a beautiful piece of hardware on your desktop, a talking point for guests who spot in your home, and you have a fraction of a chance to get some Bitcoin too.
Setup: Setting up the Nerd Miner is an absolute breeze. Simply plug in the miner using a USB-C cable (not included), and you're good to go. Connect to the miner's Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen. Once connected, enter your WiFi details and Bitcoin address. That's all there is to it! With a quick and hassle-free setup process, you'll be up and running in just two minutes, ready to start mining.
Details: This unit is preconfigured for solo mining at https://solo.ckpool.org, but you can easily switch to any pool of your preference. Detailed instructions on configuring the miner to connect to your Wi-Fi network will be provided. The system is built on Linux with integrated Wi-Fi, making it a self-contained unit that only requires a USB socket. No dedicated computer or laptop is necessary to operate this miner. It consumes approximately 2 watts of power at the wall.
Open Source: As the miner is running an open source operating system that takes care of the mining, you are welcome to inspect any and all of the source code and the runnings of the system, it is all open source.
