Cloisonné
Is an ancient method used to decorate metal such as brass or copper for ornaments and jewelry. It was first used in Egypt and then spread by the 14th century to China.
It is a method by using wire such as gold, silver, brass or copper to form compartments which separate the areas of enamel paste of many colors. It is then fired , smoothed and polished
It spread to the West by the 18th century. Most cloisonné is used in Japan and China.
