Artist: Fairport Convention
Background: this item has been beautifully signed by members of the folk-rock band
Fairport Convention.
Format: This is an early copy of the 1969 album with the
Island ‘pink rim’ and ‘sunburst’ design. Liege & Lief is the fourth album
by the British folk rock band Fairport Convention. It is the third album the
group released in the UK during 1969, all of which prominently feature Sandy
Denny as lead female vocalist (Denny did not appear on the group's 1968 debut
album), as well as the first to feature future long-serving personnel Dave
Swarbrick and Dave Mattacks on violin/mandolin and drums, respectively, as full
band members (Swarbrick had previously guested on Unhalfbricking).

signed at 5 o’clock towards the base of the cover in a medium blue biro-style

Dave Swarbrick: fiddle, mandolin, vocals, guitar (1969 – 1979). Dave has

has signed at 11 o’clock towards the left-hand edge of the sleeve in a fine
black biro-style pen.
The signatures are simply stunning! I am grading all the signatures 8/10 with no
evidence of fading and they look amazing framed! Ashley’s signature looks
slightly fainter due to the medium / light ink used.
Shipping weight: 750grm
Shipping dimensions: 33cm x 33cm x 2cm
Condition: This is a well-used original press on the ‘pink rim’
sunrise label. The record has a visual grading of very good condition but in
need of a professional clean. The plain
inner sleeve is a similar condition with creasing and moderate age yellowing. The
outer sleeve has moderate dinks, rubbing and creasing, and again at best a very
-good condition. This record is not in archive condition, at best very good, and
the intrinsic value is in the amazing musicians that have signed the front
panel, which will look amazing framed!
