VINTAGE BAKELITE TELEPHONE DIAL No 24C

This is a beautifully made rare dial  No24c made  by
The Automatic Telephone & Electric Company (AT&E) for the GPO.
by one of our earliest telephone companies.

Markings are;
TYPE 24c
ATE&E, Co Ltd

and

The type 24c dial was specific to Automatic Telephones and Electric (and their subsidiaries) manufactured telephones.

Some had chrome plated finger plates, but most had a brass plate finished in black.

This one has been stripped back to the original brass at some time.

Good Quality British Dials made by AT&E Liverpool.

Fully Stripped, chemically cleaned and rebuilt.

Can be used as a direct replacement for a period GPO dial (for No.10, 12 or 21).

24 will fit any 100, 200 and 300 series bakelite telephones.

It has been serviced and cleaned both by hand and sonically.
The dial returns  beautifully 'zrrrrrrhip' a lovely mechanical sound.

You can see how clean and fresh it looks, no dirt, no rust hardly any usage marks from an item that is probably 70 years old.

The dial plate is an original enamel numerical number plate
unmarked with clear numerals, no wear.

The dial label is a reproduction, the original dial label clip is rust free.
It has a clear plastic dial label cover.

I can provide a personal dial label with exchange and number if required.

I have not tested this dial on my own BT digital network.

The postage shown is for the UK mainland only if you live elsewhere,
