Vintage 50’s Kohler Germany Tin Litho Mechanical Wind Up Musical Singing Bird

This bird is NOT working and in FAIR condition. Mechanism is over-wound, and one leg is broken with an old repair attempt. It will still stand, but needs to be handled gingerly.

This was owned by one of two sisters that each got a bird in 1956 they think (they lived in Hawaii in 1954 and got this just after returning to the mainland in either '55 or '56). This one was used and enjoyed, but wasn't handled properly (whereas the other one is working and near mint (see my other listing)), showing how different two sisters can be!

Box is in fair condition, and includes the original key and instructions.

This is a rare and vintage item from West Germany made by Kohler. The animated singing bird is a delightful and fun mechanical toy that is sure to amuse children and adults alike.
