Victorian (1877) Bookbinders Snail-Horn Plough Plane, Almost certainly the original Brades & Co Blade, (1479)

Dated 1877, no makers name. These are incredibly difficult to date but this one is stamped 1877 - no reason to doubt this isn't the correct date of manufacture, though these designs seems to have been constant over a long period of time, possibly from the 1840's though to the early 1900's. The Brades and Co (started c1795) cutter is likely original to the plane and is consistent with the date stamp IMO.
The plane has been disassembled and lightly cleaned/waxed. The blade/cutter mechanism strips down with ease (the mount has been left in place. There are two thin softwood packers where the blade seats, likely to alleviate wobble or to compensate for wear - these have been put back in the same position as found. There is some flattening to a small section of the screw-stem threads (see photos) but this doesn't affect use. The knop on the end of the screw-stem is still intact.

Has some historical worm (the handle is the worst affected) but this won't affect use.

Condition is used - refer to photos and condition description.
