This Collaro 4TR200 Transcription Unit is a 4 speed Gramophone is a cream in colour and was purchased new by my father in 1956.
It was advertised as having “Perfect Record Reproduction for the Critic”.
Complete unit with Turntable, Rubber mat, Motor, 4 speed gear mechanism, Speed change switch, rubber mounting bead.
The original instructions are included which detail the description, template and mounting details, assembly instructions and operation.
This Collaro 4TR200 gramophone has all the hallmarks of a classic piece of equipment, and is a great choice for collectors and audiophiles alike. Its cream colour is an attractive and distinctive feature which sets it apart from other classic gramophones.
The unit had been well-maintained and is in good condition. It was used until the 1980s when it was replaced by a newer unit.
Note : Not fully tested. I have plugged the unit into the mains and the motor turns with all 4 speeds appearing to be selectable. Although the turntable was rotating I cannot guarantee that it was doing so correctly as I wasn’t able to connect a pick-up, record or an amplifier to check.

I also have a Leak Dynamic Pickup that was used with the Transcription unit and is listed separately.
