This is a rare and unique set of vintage figurines featuring the beloved comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. The set includes figurines of the two characters riding a tandem pedal bike. This set is truly rare and old. (1) The characters Laurel & Hardy have off-white and black suits. I haven’t found any other set like this. Laurel has an all black suit, and Hardy has an all off-white suit. (2) the wheels have rubber tires on the rims, and all others are made of all metal. 3) Additionally, The wheels have 20 spokes in the large wheels and 8 spokes in the smaller wheel. All others that Ive seen have 12 and 8 spokes respectively. (4) The fourth difference is the additional pipe right behind the front rider which I presume was for an umbrella. I can’t find any others on-line with the different colored suits, tires with actual rubber, number of extra spokes, and pipe that’s presumed to be for an umbrella. You can see the age of this piece by the cracking of the tires. This piece could have been a prototype or an earlier model than the others. This unique Laurel & Hardy piece has the original construction changes prior to the changes making the manufacturing less expensive.
