de Montfaucon (1655-1741) was a French monk and scholar who is generally regarded as one of the founders of modern archaeology.  Between 1719 and 1725  he published the fifteen volume work "L'Antiquite Expliquee et Representee en Figures (Antiquity Explained and Represented in Sculptures)" from which this engraving is taken.

Size of the image is 12 3/4 x 16.  Vertical fold down the middle, else very good condition, ready for matting and framing.  Full margins.  Not laid down.
