A stunning vintage Schreiner New York jet black brooch pin features a large center cabachon stone surrounded by smaller black rhinestones and a layered design. Signed "Schreiner New York" cartouche on the back of the brooch. Also features a bale on the back and the clasp is in good working order. The brooch measures approximately 3" long by 2 1/2" wide. All the stones are prong set with hand-made settings by Schreiner New York
It's missing a couple of the drop stones and you can only tell that they are missing if you run your hand across the piece. I have included a couple of photographs of a similar brooch so that you can see what's missing. Still, a very wearable, high-end brooch and could be repaired if so desired.
A mid-century piece from either the 1950s/1960s.
HISTORY: Created in New York City by founder Henry Schreiner in 1932, their pieces are known for their unusual colour combinations, hand-made settings, and use of custom-made stones which set them apart from their contemporaries.
