Offered for sale here is this French, carriage clock by Couaillet Freres. The clock is most unusually decorated with impressed circles on the corner posts and the handle, and with chevron-patterns on the friezes. The serial number "104" is impressed on the inside of the backplate. This rare antique timepiece has a quality 8-day movement which is working well. It dates from around 1900-1920.

The clock measures approximately 6 inches high with the handle up (4 1/2 inches high with the handle down), 3 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep. The brass case is in very good antique condition. One of the glass side panels has been replaced with perspex.

The clock movement has been checked over and oiled and the escapement has been ultrasonically cleaned. It is working well and will come with a key.

Antique and vintage mantel clocks may require to be set up and put into beat again after transport. Firstly, the clock must be on a level surface to run properly. Sometimes, slight adjustments have to be made after transit to get the clock running properly in its new position. I am happy to advise you on how to do this, either by email or phone. I can help you with making any adjustments required, but I am not responsible for this. Alternatively, if you are unsure about adjusting the clock yourself you can enlist expert help, at your own expense. Unless stated otherwise, all clocks are working when listed. Antique and vintage clocks are delicate instruments and no guarantees are given or insinuated regarding performance after transit. Antique clocks are unlikely to keep perfect time.
