This is an amazing piece from the estate from a very well known, high end oil lamp collector. The oil lamp is marked Success and was made by the Pittsburg Lamp and Brass company, probably around 1903. It has a center draft burner which is an earlier and much rarer version with vents below the burner. The very ornate design of the lamp is also a rarer version and this one is like new. It comes with what is often called a chandelier motor. A spring loaded chain winder to adjust height. It works but is a little difficult to work with. It has a 14" fitter blue floral pattern and has a 6" fitter on the small side. Unsure of maker of shade. The shade has just slight rubbing along bottom edge a shown. This is an amazing piece with a lot going on for it. No chips or cracks. I will ship these separately, so shipping may be high but I want to insure the shade arrives intact. If you are an international buyer, please be aware, shipping may not be accurate for 2 boxes and may be higher.
I purchased a partial estate of a well known high end lighting collector. Everything from early oil, to gas, to early electric. The whole history. There are dozens of oil lamps and shades and THOUSANDS of parts, pieces and PRISMS. Apparently, her parents before her were also collectors. I am opening boxes and unwrapping items in newspaper and fruit tissue from the 40's. Tucked away all these years, not to be appreciated. I am not a collector. But I am very happy to return these fine items back into the hands of those that can appreciate them so much more. The craftsmanship of some of these items is amazing. You can't find that now.
