This auction  is for an unworn pair of military boots in European size 43

These boots are essentially identical to WW2 German marching boots ( marschstiefel ) ,  or jackboots, but I believe these were actually produced after WW2 using the same equipment, in the same way other uniform items appear to have been  -  such as the Kradmantel (in that case made in Austria so far as I am aware).

I believe these “jackboots” continued in use in Czechoslovakia into the latter part of the 20th century although they are sometimes sold as original unissued German WW2 boots – occasionally by reputable dealers. This is because they appear the same as unissued WW2 marching boots – complete with heel irons and  WW2 German pattern hobnails. This pair of boots have no visible date that I can see -  but it may have been obscured. The age is therefore uncertain but the boots seem entirely wearable.

These boots are now quite rare in their own right and probably collectable. They are arguably made to a higher standard than replica boots as they seem, in essence, a continuation of the WW2 production run intended for military wear – but of course  no longer for the Wehrmacht…

Size

These boots are marked 43 - this would be a UK size 9 or US size 9.5.

Condition

Although these boots have no apparent wear they do have some minor damage at the top of the shaft at the back (please see photos) although this is not very noticeable does not make them any less wearable. In addition there are various other small marks and damage presumably as a result of rough storage etc.

If these boots are correctly blackened they would be virtually indistinguishable from WW2 German jackboots or marschstiefel.

Low starting price for what amount to a pair of “original” marschstiefel
