Vintage Walking Bear Wind-Up Tin Litho Toy by J. Chein & Co.

Vintage J. Chein & Co. Tin Lithographed Walking Bear Windup Toy, Circa 1950’s.

This vintage tin litho Teddy Bear windup toy was made in the U.S.A. by the J. Chein Company. 

This cute windup toy features colorful lithography of a teddy bear with yellow shirt, red suspenders and bow tie, blue pants, and a matching blue and yellow cap. His walk/waddle movement is produced by a mechanical wind-up mechanism with an original key attached. His windup mechanism works well, and he moves as he should. The piece is stamped “J. Chein & Co. Made in USA” on the back.

This piece is complete and in good working condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. There is some minor wear, scratches, and paint loss due to age (see photos for best depiction of condition). This toy measures 4.5" tall and maintains good, vibrant colors. Nice detail with no dents or rust and no missing parts despite the toy’s age and play history. 

This item is in good working condition and would make an excellent addition to any toy collection or antique dealer’s stock.
