A Coldstream Guards Home Service tunic, originally worn by an unnamed officer. The shoulder straps retain the Generals crossed sword / baton insignia and there is evidence of two further pieces of insignia on the straps, possibly crown and star. No idea when these were added.
Sadly, the tunic is missing its front closure buttons , plus one from the rear skirt. The cuff and shoulder strap buttons are present, as are most of the skirt ones. Complete with collar insignia.  I have 8 suitable buttons, I will include these for free, but they do not form part of the sale…they are a free gift. The last photos show the front of the tunic with buttons in place, but they are not stitched on.
The tunic shows wear and some fading throughout and the bullion is dulled down. That said, it is a rare , early example of a Guards tunic to a high ranking Officer. .
Photo shows the size of the tunic , so please check this , if it is important , as no returns are accepted if it does not fit. Chest approx 104cm, sleeve approx 66 cm, length collar to skirt approx 85 cm.
