Comes now for your careful consideration

this nicely upgraded Macintosh 500 MHz G3 PowerBook, Apple Model Number M7572, commonly known as "Firewire", "2000" or "Pismo".  The original specs and further detail for the 'Book are
Here, courtesy of EveryMac.com.  Some details of the current configuration and condition are summarized using Apple System Profiler in the last photo. The upgrades include

•  The CPU is a 500 MHz unit, replacing the original 400 MHz CPU

• RAM is 1 GB.  This is the max the Pismo will support

• The storage drive is a 128 GB SSD.  The SSD adds new meaning to "quiet computing", needs less power to function, is newer, more reliable and much, much faster than a hard drive

• Genuine Apple AirPort card installed.  This card supports 811.2b network capabilities and works in any speed network. With Mac OS 10.2.8 and later it supports WAP Personal encryption.  If this does not meet your needs the PCMCIA slot will accept many third-party cards for -g and -n wireless networks

• OS X 10.4.11 Tiger and OS 9.2.2 Classic are newly loaded on the SSD.  Both installs include all of the security and other updates issued while Apple still supported the OSs

•  The expansion bay optical drive is an adapted slot-loading CD RW/DVD RW module, actually an Apple Superdrive.  I do not believe the OS's installed will support the more advanced capabilities of the drive but it is certainly faster, quieter and more reliable than the original drive

The display is the original LCD.  There are no marks on it and no dead pixels.  From a cold start it takes a bit of time for the electronics to warm up to excellent full brightness.  The lid hinges are tight with just a bit of play

The main battery shows 4 lights and ~ 75 % of original capacity.  It does have some capability but I don't believe the 75 %.  The PRAM battery is disconnected.   The computer runs just fine on the included OEM "yo-yo" Apple AC adapter

The plastics are in excellent for the age of the computer with just a few very minor dings and rubs on the cover.  The rest of the computer shows very little sign of usage - there's not even the shiny spot from the right-thumb-on-the-spacebar.  The feet are originals

Of course all of the features - USB, firewire, PCMCIA/CardBus, Ethernet, modem and sound I/O ports, S-video & VGA display connectors, standard on the Pismo

This excellent PowerBook comes to you from a smoke- and pet- free home

Domestic shipping will be the most reliable/economical, most likely by FedEx. Payment by eBay’s requirement du jour.

International bidders are ALWAYS welcome if I am able to ship to you except I will not ship to Argentina, Brazil or the Russian Federation.  In a new eBay REQUIREMENT I must offer eBay International Shipping service.  This is new and I have no experience with it.  Payment will be as eBay requires in US Dollars only.   Note that the Customs Declaration form for your shipment will be completed to show the actual values involved.  (If I would lie to your government why wouldn’t I lie to you?)  eBay has specifically suggested that you be reminded that the seller cannot be responsible for holdups in your countries’ customs offices.  I also remind you that any further costs are your responsibility.
