This model is based on the eight-seat Grumman Amphibian known as the Goose. It first flew in 1937. With a production run of 300... most of the aircraft built went into military service fore the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

As for the bank: Underneath the hinged canopy you'll find the slot for the coin bank. The key is hidden underneath the rear wheel.
