RARE ANTIQUE WALT DISNEY MICKEY MOUSE INKOGRAPH FOUNTAIN PEN 1930s

 

 Going to the highest bidder is this genuine almost-antique Walt Disney Enterprises Mickey Mouse fountain pen manufactured during the mid-1930s by the Inkograph Pen Company, best known among expert collectors for their custom stylographic pens. 

 

Inkograph made two different fountain pens for Disney Enterprises at that time; this was Style 52, the more sophisticated and popular version among adults.

 

The pen measures 5 3/16 inches closed and 6 3/8 inches posted

 

There are three pictures featured in a circular band on the black plastic barrel under the cap ring – two of Mickey, one of Minnie and, below the barrel, is a decal of Mickey, just above the gold-plated fill lever imprinted “Walt Disney ©”

 

The gold-plated pocket clip on this pen bears the imprint, “Mickey Mouse.”

 

The fountain pen nib is steel with gold plating, and bears the image of Mickey Mouse

 

Embossed on the pen’s black barrel is the manufacturer, "Inkograph Co NY USA."

 

We’re not fountain pen experts, but this one appears to be very good condition for being nearly 100 years old; there are no chips, cracks, breaks of any kind.  However, to become  a working pen again, it is likely the ink sac inside the fountain pen barrel might have to be replaced after ninety plus years.

We have not attempted to clean or polish this almost-antique Disney Enterprises memorabilia; some collectors prefer to keep these historic items in their authentic existing condition.

 

Rarely does this particular Walt Disney Mickey Mouse fountain pen become available (one sold in 2011 for $1298) and this one would certainly make an impressive addition to any Disney or fountain pen collection.
