Stamp sheet of ESTONIA 2024 - Cultural Diversity Year 2024./ 856-08.05.24.(10 stamps on the sheet)

The cultural diversity of Estonia lies in its people and the things that people have been able to do with their commitment and creative spirit to make their lives more beautiful and meaningful. The Estonian word for cultural diversity is kultuuririkkus, and rikkus can simultaneously refer to wealth, prosperity, and diversity. Cultural diversity is a thoroughly European value and in the case of Estonia, it tends to stand out to visitors more often than to locals.

The year 2024 will be dedicated to openness, mutual understanding, and closer cooperation between the diverse communities in Estonia. This includes people with special needs, communities with different dialects (Seto, Mulgi, Kihnu, etc.) as well as representatives of the 216 different nationalities living in Estonia.

The signature artwork of the Cultural Diversity Year is a bird’s nest – a many-faceted metaphor for our common home. Just as a bird’s nest is made strong by the various parts woven into it, the strength of Estonian society is the interconnectedness of its people. The vivid colours of the nest suggest the richness of culture, born of shared values. Estonia is a home for everyone who cherishes and enriches it with their own culture.
