Offered here is a wonderful book which is titled OAK FURNITURE ,THE BRITISH TRADITION. This gives a history of Early Furniture in the British Isles and New England  The Book has chapters on  Makers and Methods including construction type, materials used, provincial makers , workshops. This includes decoration , timber types, carving,turning , moulds, inlay , parquetry and marquetry. There are sections on functionality and form , to include seats , tables , cupboards, dressers, chests, boxes, drawers, desks, bookcases, beds, childrens furniture and much more. There are stylistic detail including Regional identification , to mention a few there are Salisbury and District, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Aberdeen, Yorkshire pieces, Lancashire, Cheshire Westmorland , Lake District, Wales , Ireland and New England in USA . All ages are included with a section on Gothic and Renaissance Furniture before 1649 , and also Country Furniture from 1660 and later. This really is a comprehensive and useful source for DEALERS COLLECTORS and AUCTION HOUSES. This Book has gilded writing on the cover .It is complete with many colour and black and white plates and has 580 pages including the index. This was written by Victor Chinnery and was printed in England by BARON PUBLISHING in WOODBRIDGE , SUFFOLK, ENGLAND.  This has the Original Dust Jacket and the books pages and plates are in good condition ,but there is some staining on the cover .  HARDBACK COVER. This would be a lovely addition to an antiquarian , antique or collectable book collection...
