This is a rare and unusual c1920s-30s vintage THE BLACK CAT Butter Softner Patent English made novelty piece of kitchenalia.It is made of china and it has a cork stopper that you remove and fill with boiling water and then you hold the cat handle and apply it to a slab of butter to soften it making it easier to spread.It is in an excellent condition and still retains its khaki green plastic stopper and it’s overall measurements are 11.2cm tall x 8cm in diameter.
