Adapted into a feature film in 2005 starring Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz and based on a real-life case in Kano, Nigeria, this is a story about Justin Quayle, a British diplomat whose activist wife is murdered. Believing that there is something behind the murder, he seeks to uncover the truth and finds an international conspiracy of corrupt bureaucracy and pharmaceutical money. 

In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. There is foxing to the fore edge. The original dark blue silk ribbon is still fully attached. 

The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with a mark to the front cover.
