This is a livery button (now a pendant) made in Austria (TW Superfein Wien) with the Coat of Arms/Family Crest for the Noble Frolich family of Sweden by way of Austria.
Noble family originating from Gersdorf in Styria in Austria, and known since the 16th century. The family came to Sweden with colonel Hans Christoph Frölich (1602–1658), who in 1630 went into Swedish military service.
His son, the colonel and commandant in Malmö Carl Gustaf Frölich (1637–1714), was naturalized as a Swedish nobleman in 1682 28/12 by King Karl XI and introduced in 1683 4/1, but the family was excluded in the more recent register as having been introduced in a higher dignity. These items likely date to the 19th century Frolichs, Erik (1802-1875) and Oscar (1828-1905), the latter a military attache in Vienna.
The helm has three knights helmets with closed cages signifying Royalty. Each has a Duke's coronet.
The supporters are a lion facing left on the left and an eagle facing right on the right.
The shield has the maiden again and castle towers. There is no motto.
I have two of these available. If you have preference indicate the first (four photos) or second (five photos).
From the same estate I also have a larger more detailed carved bone crest on a wooden wallet/folder. See last photo, not included.
Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
