Up for bid is a large blooming plant of Paphiopedilum Hilo Black Eagle, Wossner Black Wings x rothschildianum, from a grex originally produced by Hilo Orchid Farm. This plant has beautifully striped flowers; although the black color of anitum is missing, something about the depth of color in the stripes comes from that species. This first-bloom plant shows lots of promise, with good color, excellent shape, and two flowers and a bud on this blooming. The plant is growing well in a 5" pot with one growth in bloom and two starts. Plant photographed on 5/9.
