DescriptionUp for sale is a Vintage “Future Science Fiction Stories” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare First Issue published in May/June 1950 as Volume 1 Number 1. This is a large 98 page science fiction pulp magazine published by Columbia Publications measuring about 10” x 7”. This issue features Dynasty of the Lost by George O. Smith, Nobody Saw the Ship by Murray Leinster, The Miniature Menace by Frank Belknap Long, Battle of the Unborn by James Blish, Parking, Unlimited by Noel Loomis, and Imitation of Death by Lester del Rey. These are all the original first printings of these science fiction short stories and novelettes in any publication. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Earle Bergey and several illustrations by C. A. Murphy and others inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling, including some small edge tears and chipping. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, but the cover is detached as shown. The magazine is complete and remains well bound although the first four pages are detached due to a crease near the staples. Its interior pages are clean with some creasing and no writing or large rips or tears. The magazine does have a rough fore-edge as is typical for these old pulp magazines with small edge tears and chipping. The paper has tanned a litte and is brittle near the edges. This rare vintage “Future Science Fiction Stories” pulp magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
