Pre War Gibson 2-ply rock maple Style 00 Banjo Wood Rim from the 1930’s. Pulled from a TB-00

This is a genuine Pre War Gibson Banjo wood rim.  This wood rim was pulled from a TB 00 banjo (tenor) made in the 1930’s (This style banjo was introduced in 1935).

This wood rim is cut for a pre war Gibson one piece flange but a modern post war reproduction flange like that available from Stewart MacDonald or other companies that may still sell some high quality banjo parts.  Prucha banjo parts would be ideal for this because they take theirs in close tolerances and pay very serious attention to details for these old parts… or, you can purchase a genuine Gibson Pre War one piece flange and start collecting the parts you need to build your own Pre War Gibson banjo!

This wood rim has no alterations at all.  It is only a 2-ply rim.  Kenny Ingram played an RB-00 that has a tone ring installed in it for many years, so tone ring casters can make a tone ring for this wood rim.

This is in OK shape with some delamination in the area of the neck attachment area. It can be repaired BUT WE ARE TOO BACKLOGGED and can't do that for you, sorry.  This wood rim also has some dings where the tailpiece on the banjo was tightened down a bit much over the years.
