A lovely vintage 1930s evening bag with petti-point embroidery on the front side, and black velvet on the back. The frame is brass with little flower pattern and the clasp is also decorated with flower shapes. The chain handle is also brass. The embroidery shows flowers in red, yellow, pink and blue.
The bag is lined with black crepe fabric and has small slip in pocket for a mirror and a larger inner pocket just big enough to hold all the essentials - of course when this was made, women would only carry a lipstick, mirror, comb and handkerchief!
The bag measures 7 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep. The handle measures 14 inches end to end.
