ITEM: Original Photo Album of 65th BOMB SQUADRON, 43rd BOMB GROUP B-50 SUPERFORTRESS BOMBERS at Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan, circa 1948. Tow photos of Japanese Aircraft. MANY PHOTOS (more than shown) of AIR CREWS WITH THEIR B-50 BOMBERS, Photos of MAINTENANCE ON B-50 BOMBERS, A Few Photos of the AIR BASE, GROUND EQUIPMENT, PARTIES, etc. ALSO INCLUDES THREE PAGES OF HISTORY. I took the photos out of the album and scanned them two at a time so I could show more of them, but still only some of them are shown. Excellent original photos with superb clarit and detail. SEE ALL SCANS.

The 65th Bomb Squadron, 43rd Bomb Group flew B-17 Flying Fortresses out of Australia in 1942. In 1943 they were based in New Guinea and flew B-24 Liberators. After the war ended they were based at Yakota Air Base in Japan and were issued new B-50 Superfortress Bombers in 1948. These were upgraded versions of the B-29 Superfortress.

DATE: Post-WWII - photos do not glow under a black light.

SIZE: Photos are 3.5" x 5" not including the wide margins on the left where they are posted into the album cover.
