In the 30s of the last century in the Vyatka outback, in the city of Khalturin (now Orlov), the artel MYUD ( МЮД) "International Youth Day"

The first products of the artel were caskets, cigarette cases, pipes made of wood and burls, and already in 1939 the artel workers started the production of chess. In 1959 - 1961 merged with the artel Сила (Labor Artel of the Disabled "Sila" organized on May 1, 1925 ), and became known as the "Khalturinskaya factory of cultural goods."
