Oyster Shell & Pearl Bangle
It is seldom that you get to call something unique,
but this bracelet truly is. It has a top setting modelled to look like a rock
pool lined with a small natural open oyster shell secured by small claws. The
shell has two small natural pearls close to one edge. The setting has a hinge
to one side that attaches to a taut tapering band with an up-turned lip to the
opposite end. It fits a “D” shaped loop, on the underside of the top, to form a
strong closure.
It is a beautiful, handcrafted piece stamped with
the artisan silversmiths initials of “AW” (un-traced). It is further stamped
“STG.SIL” in the Australian manner for its 925-sterling silver fineness. We
believe that was most likely made in Western Australia close to Broome or
thereabouts and dates to the end of the 1980s through 1990s.

It is in excellent pre-loved condition with no
damage or faults to report, some expected light wear and a warm patina. The
