Classy 1930 Art Deco 18ct White Gold & Emerald
Cut Natural Ruby Ring W/11½ 2.2g
This lovely art deco white gold ring set with a
good natural emerald cut ruby. From design we date it to the art deco era of the
1930s or there abouts. It is not marked; tests confirm it is a minimum of 750
for its white gold fineness.
It has a thin tapering band that widens above the
finger line to decorative architectural stepped shoulders. These support a
raised rectangular setting that runs in line with the finger. The top is set
with the emerald cut ruby held by four yellow gold claws at the edges. The ruby is a very
slight pinkish red colour with natural inclusions and feathering.
It is a lovely art deco ring, these days well
suited to both smart daywear and special occasions.
We have
listed other rings and pieces of antique, vintage and fine jewellery this week,
please refer to our other listings.
The ring is in good antique condition, no damage or
faults to report, some light wear and a warm antique patina. It has been enlarged which may account for
its lack of gold marks. The photos form part of the condition description.
Measurements: across shoulders 11.5mm x W11.5mm x
H4.9mm, rear band width 1.5mm, W/11½; 2.2g.
Please look at all the pictures, they are a really important part of the description and condition report.
