This dress comes with a beautiful story.

Helen Glinski wore it to marry Raymond Heiser in 1937 at the age of 17 in Chicago, IL.  They had a long and happy marriage lasting through ups and downs of life, world war, and even a pandemic.  Helen lived until 102 and passed away in 2022.

This dress is one of a kind handmade masterpiece from luxurious silk velvet.  There's really no fabric that feels like this today. The bias cut style gives it an elegant Art Deco look. Conservative high neckline, short (for the times) train. and slightly puffed, long sleeves add a touch of old hollywood glamour.  Beading around the neck and buttons down the back are evidence of the typical for the 30's style. Original veil is included in this sale.

Condition (please see pictures):

It's an amazing for the age condition. No tears noted in the fabric of the dress.  However:

-Several brown spots on the shoulders, bust, and waist.

-Buttons missing on sleeves

-Beading around the neck will need to be fixed. Several bead strains are coming loose

-Veil has several small holes, not very noticeable but too many to mention

Measurements when the dress is laying flat:

Bust: 36

Waist: 28

Hips: 36

Sleeve length: 24

Dress length in the front: 58

Please keep in mind that the dress is very old and should not be stretched to the max. So, the wearer will need to be smaller than the above.  For example, my mannequin is 32x26x32 and the dress fits it nicely.
