Another super nice image by Nixon. I'm finding many that I've never seen before!!

Stunning Jeff Nixon Trees in Winter - Yosemite  11"x14" Photograph

Original Handmade by Jeff Nixon in the Darkroom Photograph

I wanted to offer something to those that might like to own an original Jeff Nixon photograph at a price less than what his signed, mounted and matted photographs are selling for today. This photograph came out of Jeff's storage in a box of finished photos ready to be mounted and signed. It's very common that photographers have boxes and boxes of extra photos (I sure do!!) that they hope to mount up and sell one day.

Stamped on the back with Estate Stamps and a Letter of Authenticity will also be included.

Matting and corner mounting service is available for an additional charge.

Photo shown of Jeff and Ansel Adams back in the 1970's is posted for historical value only, it is not part of this offering.

*****

Jeff Nixon (1952-2022) began photographing in the late 1960's, and by the end of the millennium had acquired an impressive list of credentials; many years as a year-round resident of Yosemite Valley, noted instructor in the techniques of black and white photography which he gleaned from his years of working with Ansel Adams, and learning the Zone System from the Master himself. Jeff had been an instructor for two California Junior Colleges, Modesto and Columbia, has led Extension Courses for UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley, and taught and lectured in numerous seminars and classes. He taught workshops and had many showings nationwide, working with Morley Baer, Chris Rainier, Rod Dresser, and John Sexton as either field or darkroom assistant. He was also the Production and Research Assistant for the Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust, Carmel Highlands, from 1990 to 1995.

Jeff made the Monterey Peninsula his home, finding great inspiration and subject matter to keep his photography energized. Jeff’s work is represented in a number of Private Collections, as well as several Museums and Galleries, such as the Levin Gallery in Monterey. Jeff was very active with his own photography up until his death in August of 2022, and has found great assistance through his business contacts and contemporaries. His work had branched out to include various forms of Commercial Work, Interior Design, and Product Photography.

Hopefully you will agree with the words of Virginia Adams from 1993..."I have had the great pleasure of recently viewing a portfolio of photographs by Jeff Nixon. I found his work very satisfying . Jeff has been a friend of mine, and was of Ansel’s, for many years. Jeff has a marvelous eye, and combines that with excellent craftsmanship. I highly recommend Jeff’s photographs! I know they will provide you with a true sense of the Sierra… a defined sense of place!”.... Virginia Adams, Carmel Highlands, CA

Please note that the actual image size could be slightly different than the size listed above as this darkroom made photograph was handmade, and may have required some custom cropping.
