This auction is for a used and clean POULAN S25DA professional trim type chainsaw.  It has been fully refurbished and ready for work.  This magneto contact point ignition model is a fine running 38cc saw.  It is a good example from the last years of this model ...  which is arguably one of the best pro trim saws ever made.  If you can appreciate a simple, tough, durable, reliable and powerful chainsaw, this is the one for you.  I have been building and refurbishing chainsaws for many years ... and selling them on eBay.  This is a tough high performance trim saw.

The starting price for this chainsaw is excellent ... you cannot rent a saw for the weekend at the starting price.  Definitely cannot buy a new saw of this calibre anywhere near the starting price.  Nice lightweight and versatile trim saw ... strong power for its displacement. 

The engine compression is very strong ... nice idle, strong acceleration and superior top end.  I seriously doubt you will be disappointed with this fine saw as it is tough enough for commercial work.  Very good low end engine torque from this reed valve engine ... pulls nicely from low to middle rpm.  It is possible you will need to slightly adjust the idle speed or fuel mixture based on your operating environment.  

EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL TRIM SAW FOR THE STARTING PRICE !!

The cosmetic condition of this saw is above average ...  nothing cracked or broken ... just scuffed paint as would be expected.  It has an aluminum-magnesium frame and side covers.  No damage to the frame ... no cracked covers ... nothing to affect performance.  The 38cc engine gives this saw lots of power ... good as a small firewood cutter also.  It would also be excellent for a camping / outdoor / trail riding chainsaw.  No missing parts !!

The engine compression is superior with its twin ring piston and industrial chrome plated cylinder.  This model has the bridged exhaust port cylinder design for high cylinder strength and piston ring protection.

The saw starts easily and runs very well.  With its reliable Phelon electronic ignition system along with its rebuilt Tillotson HU-10A carburetor, its ready for use.  These saws were "badge engineered" by Poulan for many different companies (Sears/Craftsman, Western Auto, Ridgid, Dayton, etc.) as "house brand" saws.  They were even made for Husqvarna, Jonsered and other manufacturers over the course of their production run.

This powerful running chainsaw includes an excellent professional OREGON 14" solid core hard nose (stellite alloy) reversible guide bar and new OREGON 91VXL semi-chisel chain.  This cutting combination is one of the best available for this chainsaw ... tough and durable.  The bar / chain specifications are 3/8" low profile pitch, 0.050" gauge and 53 drive links.  Very versatile and easy to use.  The clutch assembly and spur gear have just typical light use.

The Phelon magneto contact point ignition system produces a hot blue-white spark firing the new factory specified Champion CJ-8 copper core spark plug.  The Tillotson HU-10A carburetor has been fully rebuilt with only OEM Tillotson Express parts ... diaphragms, gaskets and needle valve.  It has a new Tygon fuel line, new ceramic fuel filter and new foam type air filter.  Factory mixture adjustment for this saw is approximately 1 turn open from the lightly seated position on both HIGH and LOW speed jets.  The carburetor is currently set to 7/8 turns open on HIGH speed and 1 1/8 open on LOW speed.  Adjustments to mixture strength and idle speed requires a simple small flat blade screwdriver ... only make adjustments with the engine warm and in 1/8 turns at a time, if needed.  

No fuel or oil leaks ... of course, oil will always leak off the bar from use.  Both the manual and automatic bar / chain oiler works properly as it should with no problems.  The manual override oiler (button on top of handle) works great when needed with very dry wood.  The rebuilt starter recoil assembly is strong.  It has a replacement aluminum starter pulley, new spring, new rope and replacement grip.  It is problem-free with no slippage or other defects.  The muffler is in good shape with all internal baffles and screen.  

I apologize ... but I cannot accept returns.  It is simply too expensive to allow returns due to cosmetic issues when the saw runs great.  I do not expect the buyer to have my level of technical expertise, but it is important that you understand the basics.  It is NOT a "new" chainsaw ... and you are not paying a "new" price ... so please be realistic in your expectations.  If there is a real problem with the saw, I will resolve any issue that was caused by my actions.  

Please understand you are NOT purchasing a new chainsaw as there are always scrapes, scuffs, hidden dirt, minor debris, etc. ... it will NOT be perfect.  But I think you will definitely be satisfied with its performance.  Yes, it is true, 99% of all starting and operating problems are due to failure to follow the correct directions.

My apology for the next paragraph but it is sadly necessary.  Be serious and realistic about your purchase and expectations ... understand it is expected that you know how to properly operate a chainsaw.  Of course, this expectation should be obvious, but many potential buyers do not have a clue ... and will ultimately blame the seller.

Chainsaws are fantastic labor saving devices, but can be very dangerous if handled with carelessness.  You really must be able to use a chainsaw, and understand it, before you purchase.  Failure to follow starting and operating instructions … or inability to adjust the carburetor … or other simple owner expectations are NOT defects or my fault.  My chainsaws are accurately described.  Return shipping is just too EXPENSIVE for me when caused by buyer inexperience or a failed component after buyer use.

You will be receiving exactly what is shown in the photos.  The dry weight (with bar and chain) is approximately 10 lbs.  I will ship to any domestic US zip code using US Postal Service Ground Advantage (eBay Preferred Shipper) based on a shipping weight of approximately 15 lbs.  If USPS does not offer the best service (they are typically slow), I will use an alternate carrier (at no extra cost) to provide you with the best experience without long shipping times.

No over-priced flat rate fee ... just the amount necessary for delivery to the buyer's address.  All items will be safely and securely packaged ... all fluids will be drained.  I ship fast following payment !!  I do regret the current high cost of shipping, but I try to minimize the weight and package size.  I do understand the frustration.  

Please review my feedback and be assured this auction is accurately described.  As always, NO RESERVE and NO HANDLING FEE ... but there is NO RETURN on this chainsaw unless there is a demonstratable problem.  Any bid from a buyer with less than 10 feedbacks will not be accepted unless you email me to express your intentions.  Just too many scammers and non-paying buyers.
